Students at Kellerberrin District High School can become leaders and develop the skills and characteristics of positive role models to their peers and in the community.
Students are given opportunities to develop the building blocks of leadership including, presentation skills, responsibility, communication, negotiation, organisation, and teamwork. Student leaders also have the opportunity to inform school decision making and impact the learning environment, offering a student voice to issues that impact them directly.
Leadership roles encourage students to consider how they can support the school’s moral purpose of Together, we create pathways to success as well as the school’s values of; be safe, be respectful, be engaged and be resilient.
In 2025, our Student Leaders have been appointed to portfolios of responsibility:
- Sports – Our Sports Leaders motivate and inspire others to excel in sports, instil a joy for physical activity and promote healthy competition. They lead by example, promote teamwork and embody the values of fair play and respect.
- Wellbeing – Our Wellbeing Leaders work closely with the other portfolios to promote student mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. They organise and promote activities and initiatives that support our school community to be happy and healthy.
- Events – Our Events Leaders plan and organise events that promote a strong sense of community. They support in building a positive culture and encourage the involvement of their peers.
- Sustainability – Our Sustainability Leaders support the school in implementing sustainable practices. These include the ways in which we consider and reduce our energy consumption; promoting mindfulness about the way in which we use water in the school and minimising the amount of waste that is created and sent to landfill.
